Police are investigating a deadly shooting at an unauthorized block party in Northwest Fort Worth on Sunday.

The shooting occurred at a home in the 3500 block of NW 27th Street in Fort Worth just before 12:30 a.m. on April 30, law enforcement officials told The Dallas Express.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered a man suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso. The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he died shortly after his arrival.

The Dallas Express contacted the Fort Worth Police Department for additional information about the suspect and case.

“Detectives found that there was a large party being held at the location when an argument broke out between the victim and the suspect,” Officer Buddy Calzada, spokesperson for the FWPD, said via email.

“The suspect produced a weapon and fired multiple shots striking the victim at least one time. The suspect fled the scene prior to the arrival of police and medical personnel,” said Calzada.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to identify the victim, according to police.

No arrests have been made, and police are looking for a suspect.

As reported by The Dallas Express, a 16-year-old was killed in a road rage shooting in Northeast Dallas on Tuesday, April 25.

The shooting happened in the 4600 block of East RL Thornton Freeway westbound service road in District 2, which is represented by Dallas City Council Member Jesse Moreno. Moreno has been named Crime Boss of the Month by The Dallas Express three times within the past six months due to the increasing crime in the district.

Murders in Dallas have increased by 23% year-to-date, according to the Dallas Police Department Crime Brief on April 30.
