Man Found Guilty in Police Officer Shooting

A Denton County jury found the man who shot a police officer in 2019 guilty of two counts of aggravated assault against a public servant.

In October 2019, Antwon Pinkston was involved in a shooting outside a Taco Bell on University Drive. Officer Urban Rodriguez was hit in the head and leg. Officer Rodriguez was taken to the hospital, where he survived and received treatment for his wounds.

Pinkston’s guilty verdict was given on March 31, with the punishment phase beginning on April 1.
