Man Found Dead in South Dallas Encampment

According to Dallas police, a man was shot and killed in a homeless encampment in South Dallas on Sunday afternoon.

Officers were dispatched to the 2600 block of Dawson Street, near Malcolm X Boulevard, for a welfare check shortly after 3 p.m. on May 22. Upon arrival, they discovered a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office will attempt to identify the man, as he did not have any identification on him.
