Police in Little Elm have arrested a 30-year-old former charter schoolteacher on charges including continuous sexual abuse of a child after a student’s report sparked an investigation that uncovered multiple victims, authorities said.

Eric Moore, who worked as a second-grade teacher at North Texas Collegiate Academy’s East Campus — a charter school serving elementary and middle school students on Oak Grove Parkway — was taken into custody on January 29.

He faces a first-degree felony count of continuous sexual abuse of a child and a second-degree felony charge of indecency with a child-sexual conduct.

The school placed Moore on administrative leave on January 8, the day the allegation surfaced, and he subsequently resigned. While confirming more than one victim, a police spokesperson declined to provide further details, including the number of victims or their ages, citing the ongoing investigation.

“The Little Elm Police Department is also working to ensure the affected children and their families are connected with appropriate resources as the investigation continues,” the department said in a news release, CBS reported.

School officials reported the matter to the relevant agencies upon learning of it.

Superintendent Lisa Stanley praised the response in a statement: “We applaud the diligent efforts of the authorities during this process as they have worked tirelessly and quickly to investigate this deeply troubling situation.”

Stanley added, “Fully understanding the impact this may have on the students, families, and staff of North Texas Collegiate, counseling and support services are available as needed …Our hearts are with our students, families, and staff as we navigate this difficult situation together.”

The investigation remains underway. Authorities urged anyone with information to reach out to the Little Elm Police Department at [email protected] or 214-975-0460.
