Hit-And-Run Leaves Local Cyclist in Critical Condition

Fort Worth police are looking for a driver that struck a cyclist and left him seriously injured.

A man riding a bicycle was struck by a driver Monday morning.

Police were called to the scene around 12:30 a.m.

The incident occurred at the southbound entrance ramp to the North/South Freeway at its intersection with East Lancaster Avenue.

The victim was riding his bike in the eastbound lanes of Lancaster Avenue when he was struck by the suspect’s vehicle, according to police, speaking with a local news outlet.

The driver of the vehicle did not stop to render aid before driving away from the scene of the incident.

The cyclist was taken to a nearby hospital and is considered to be in critical condition.

There is no description of the suspect’s vehicle or the suspect available at this time.

Officers from the police department’s traffic investigation unit are looking into the incident. They encourage anyone with information to call 817-392-4850 and reference report No.220074136.

The Dallas Express has reached out to the Fort Worth Police Department for further comment, but no additional information was immediately available.

The investigation is ongoing.
