More than 100 students are safe after Duncanville Police shot and killed a gunman at a summer camp on Monday.

The Duncanville Police Department began receiving calls at 8:43 a.m. about an armed individual and shots fired at the Duncanville Fieldhouse, where 150 students were attending a summer camp, police department representative Michelle Arias told The Dallas Express.

Duncanville police units arrived at the fieldhouse two minutes later and located the suspect inside the building.

In an exchange of gunfire, police struck the suspect. Paramedics took the gunman to a nearby hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

No students, staff, or officers were injured in the exchange, Arias said.

Officers are still investigating. The Duncanville Police Department has not released any information about the suspect or a possible motive in this case.

The Dallas Express will provide more information as it becomes available.

UPDATE: On Tuesday morning, Duncanville PD identified the shooter as 42-year-old Brandon Keith Ned of Dallas.
