Four teenagers face murder charges after a 17-year-old was fatally shot during a drug deal at a community park in Burleson, Texas.
The victim, Keighan Robert Crist, died from multiple gunshot wounds on the evening of December 7 at Baily Lake Park in what police describe as a narcotics transaction gone wrong, announced authorities on Friday.
A second teenager was wounded in the Bailey Lake Park shooting, which has shaken the Burleson community.
Burleson police responded to gunfire reports at 11:33 p.m. in the park’s parking lot. Officers found Crist unresponsive in his vehicle’s driver’s seat with multiple gunshot wounds.
He was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A second 17-year-old male suffered a leg wound and received treatment at an area hospital.
Police quickly identified Wyatt Lynn Jacobs, 17, as a suspect. Officers located him parked in a residential driveway shortly after the shooting.
During questioning, Jacobs reportedly admitted his involvement to detectives. He was arrested on Sunday on capital murder and aggravated robbery charges.
Jacobs was booked into the Johnson County Law Enforcement Center with bonds totaling $1.2 million.
Three additional suspects were also arrested this week. Joel Fabian Garcia of Fort Worth faces murder and aggravated robbery charges with a $1.25 million bond.
Julio Adan Duarte of Burleson faces identical charges and a bond amount. Gustavo Gil Jr. of Alvarado was arrested on Thursday on organized criminal activity charges.
All four suspects remain in the Johnson County Jail. Police have not released additional details about the investigation.
