A 24-year-old man is in custody after Fort Worth SWAT officers arrested him for a fatal shooting that left one person dead on Saturday afternoon.

The arrest brings a swift resolution to what police describe as an isolated attack on a pedestrian in broad daylight.

Fort Worth police identified the suspect as Saul Bosquez following the 3:49 p.m. shooting in the 2000 block of Watauga Road. Officers found the victim on the ground with multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

The man died after being transported to a nearby hospital.

Homicide detectives determined the victim was walking along the roadway when a dark-colored vehicle pulled past him. The driver opened fire, striking the victim multiple times before fleeing the scene.

Investigators quickly identified Bosquez as the suspect and called in the SWAT team to serve an arrest warrant.

Police believe the shooting was an isolated incident with no ongoing threat to public safety. They have not released a motive for the attack.

The Tarrant County Medical Examiner’s Office is working to confirm the victim’s identity.

Bosquez is being held at the Tarrant County Jail on a murder charge, with bail set at $750,000.
