A violence-filled weekend left several dead and several wounded over the Easter holiday. The Dallas Police Department told The Dallas Express about several incidents that occurred on Easter Sunday.

Sunday Crime Reports:

Near-Fatal Shooting at Ridgecrest Road

A man was critically injured in a shooting that happened early Sunday morning, according to police.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 6500 block of Ridgecrest Road at about 1 a.m. on April 9.

When police arrived at the scene, they discovered a man had been shot by an unknown suspect who left the location, police said.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is in critical condition, police said.

Law enforcement’s investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting took place in District 13, which Dallas City Councilwoman Gay Donnell Willis presides over.

Double Shooting on S Montreal Avenue

Dallas police are investigating a shooting that injured a man and woman early Sunday morning at about 3:40 a.m.

Officers responded to a shooting call on April 9 in the 1100 block of S Montreal Avenue.

When police arrived at the scene, they found a man and woman had been shot by an unknown suspect who then fled the scene, according to police.

Both victims were transported to a local hospital and were treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The shooting incident took place in District 1, which is represented by Dallas City Council Member Chad West. West has won The Dallas Express Crime Boss of the Month more times than any other Dallas City Council member.

Fatal Shooting on Denton Drive

Dallas police are investigating a homicide after a fight occurred Sunday morning, according to police.

The incident took place at about 8 a.m.

Officers responded to a shooting call in the 10500 block of Denton Drive.

When officers arrived at the scene, they discovered two groups of individuals were involved in a fight that escalated, according to police.

The unidentified suspects fired their weapons, hitting three victims, and fled the scene, according to police.

One victim died at the scene. Two other victims were transported to a local hospital and remain in critical condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.

The incident happened in District 6, which is represented by Dallas City Councilmember Omar Narvaez, a past winner of The Dallas Express Crime Boss title.

Crime Stoppers will pay up to $5,000 for tips called into Crime Stoppers that lead to an arrest and indictment for felony offenses such as this one.

According to the Dallas police crime analytics dashboard, murders are up more than 20% year-to-date compared with the same time period last year.
