Man Killed In East Dallas After Allegedly Pointing Gun, Police Say

A 30-year-old man was killed Saturday night in East Dallas after allegedly pointing a gun at another man, who then shot him, according to the Dallas Police Department.

Anthony Turner was pronounced dead at the scene following the shooting, which occurred around 9:30 p.m. on January 17 in the 7400 block of Hunnicut Road.

Police said officers responded to a shooting call and found Turner at the location. Dallas Fire-Rescue personnel pronounced him dead.

According to the preliminary investigation, Turner pointed a gun at another man before being shot. Police have not identified the other individual involved or released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident.

Detectives said the case will be referred to a grand jury. The investigation remains ongoing under case numbers 008397-2026 and 008546-2026.
