Dallas police say a bystander struck in gunfire on May 7 has died from his injuries. The incident was a triple-shooting previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Dallas PD officers were dispatched at about 12:20 a.m. after the department received a call about a shooting at 2600 Meyers Street near Al Lipscomb Way. DART police also responded to the shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found that 20-year-old Andrew Hernandez, a 19-year-old woman, and another woman had been shot in an altercation resulting in gunfire. Police say a woman, identified as 30-year-old Lawanda Williams, had gotten into an argument and a physical altercation with a woman she knew at an apartment complex.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit, Williams walked to her vehicle during the altercation and retrieved a silver handgun, with which she shot the other woman in the stomach. She then ran back to her vehicle while allegedly shooting continuously.

As Williams shot, Hernandez and the 19-year-old woman, sitting about 420 feet away from the apartment complex, were hit. The two, who were waiting for a ride nearby, had stood up when they heard a gunshot. However, Williams shot in their direction, hitting Hernandez in the head and the woman in the leg.

Hernandez was hospitalized in critical condition, where he later died on May 10.

Investigators said that Hernandez and the 19-year-old were not involved in the altercation and were merely bystanders.

Williams was booked into jail on May 7 and charged with three counts of aggravated assault. Upon the death of Hernandez, a murder charge was added. Her bond has been set to over $1.2 million.

It is unclear if Williams has an attorney.

Further details of the triple-shooting are not currently available. Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
