A murder suspect who cut off her court-ordered ankle monitor and went on the run nearly a week ago has been captured.
Lisa Mitchell, 35, was wanted for allegedly selling fentanyl in North Richland Hills to a person who later died. She had bonded out on the murder charge with the ankle monitor as a condition of release.
Tarrant County Sheriff’s Office warrant deputies located and arrested Mitchell on Wednesday without incident, following a focused investigation aided by public tips. She was transported to the Tarrant County Jail, where she now faces additional charges related to removing the monitor.
The sheriff’s office credited community members for their tips and deputies for their work in bringing Mitchell into custody. The Dallas Express previously reported that Crime Stoppers was offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the suspect’s arrest.
The sheriff’s office statement did not say whether a tipster would receive a reward now that Mitchell has been captured.
