A fatal shooting of a 19-year-old followed an altercation at a south Dallas fast-food restaurant Thursday night.

Dallas Police arrived at Raising Cane’s restaurant at 8150 South Hampton Road and West Wheatland around 10:40 p.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.

19-year-old Zuri Andre Goff was found in the back seat of a black Nissan Sentra in the drive-thru. He had been shot several times.

The victim was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

According to officers, two suspects had gotten into a fight with someone in the drive-thru after exiting the restaurant. The suspects shot into the vehicle, shattering the back window of the car and hitting Goff.

The unidentified gunmen fled the scene on foot and are still on the loose.

No other injuries were reported. An investigation is ongoing to determine the motive for the shooting.

In response to the incident, Raising Cane’s released a statement: “We are deeply saddened to learn of this tragedy that occurred in our drive through last night. The safety and well-being of our customers and crew is always our top priority. We are fully cooperating with the authorities as they continue their investigation.”
