An 18-year-old male was fatally shot in east Oak Cliff on Sunday, prompting the Dallas police to search for a potential suspect, according to a police department news release.

Around 11:15 p.m. on July 10, officers were dispatched to the 4400 block of South Marsalis Avenue and discovered the victim suffering from gunshot wounds in the Time Saver convenience store parking lot.

The police identified the victim as Curdarrius Chapple. Officers said Chapple was still alive when he was found. Dallas Fire-Rescue transported him to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.

The suspect, an unknown black male of approximately 18 years old, entered the store and fired multiple shots at Chapple, according to police. DPD is still determining the shooter’s motive and the circumstances surrounding the murder.
