15-Year-Old Dies After December 6 Shooting Near Canada Drive, Dallas Police Say

A 15-year-old has died after being shot earlier this month near the 2500 block of Canada Drive, prompting Dallas Police to reclassify the case as a homicide, according to a department press release.

Police said officers responded to a call for service around 5:08 a.m. on December 6 in the 7700 block of Forest Lane. Investigators determined the juvenile had been transported by a private vehicle to a hospital after being shot by an unknown suspect near the 2500 block of Canada Drive.

On December 13, the juvenile died, and the offense was officially reclassified as a homicide. The investigation remains ongoing under case number 174420-2025.

Dallas Homicides Reported by Police in December 2025

The following is a summary of all Dallas homicide incidents publicly reported by Dallas Police through December 14, 2025. These press releases describe 11 homicide incidents resulting in 13 deaths, including multiple incidents involving more than one victim.

December 1 — 4000 West Camp Wisdom Road
Police say 42-year-old Billy Brightman was shot and killed. A suspect, 21-year-old Marlon Lawrence, was taken into custody at the scene and charged with murder.

December 2 — 2100 West Ledbetter Drive
Officers initially responded to a shooting call but later determined 32-year-old Jerrian Jones had been stabbed. Jones died at a hospital. On December 3, 32-year-old Alexandria Hubbard was arrested and charged with murder.

December 4 — 800 Cade Road
Police conducting a health and welfare check found 71-year-old Jerome Wooten deceased at the location. The investigation remains ongoing.

December 6 — 2700 Samuell Boulevard
Police responded to a shooting in which 26-year-old Christian Velasquez Rosas was killed. A grand jury referral is expected.

December 6 — 2900 West Wheatland Road
Five people were shot during a shooting call. Thirty-three-year-old Joseph Premeaux died. Police later arrested 21-year-old Jesus Torres, who was charged with murder.

December 8 — 4800 Gaston Avenue
Police say a man died after being stabbed in the neck. Thirty-three-year-old Cleto Banda was arrested nearby and charged with murder. The victim’s identity is pending confirmation by the medical examiner.

December 11 — 4700 Berridge Lane
Thirty-six-year-old Daniel Tovar was shot and later died at a hospital. No arrests have been announced.

December 11 — 2400 Meyers Street
Police found 39-year-old Antwan Bell shot and dead inside a vehicle. Twenty-three-year-old Shakuri Reece was arrested and charged with murder.

December 11 — 15800 El Estado Drive
Police responded to a shooting that left 24-year-old Arlina Sander dead at the scene and 27-year-old Darvilease Washington dead at a hospital. Police later determined the suspect was found deceased in Mesquite from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

December 12 — 7600 South Central Expressway
Police say 30-year-old William Ramirez-Garcia fatally shot a female victim before dying from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound. The female victim’s name has not been released pending next-of-kin notification.

December 6 (reclassified December 13) — 2500 Canada Drive
A 15-year-old juvenile died days after being shot near Canada Drive. The case was reclassified as a homicide after the victim’s death.
