Column | Trump’s 37-0 Primary Bloodbath Shows Who Runs The GOP

President Trump just dropped another masterclass in Republican politics, and the results speak louder than any press conference. This week, candidates he endorsed went a perfect 37-0 in GOP primaries across multiple states. Not a single loss. That is not luck, it is dominance. While the usual swamp creatures in Washington whisper about “party unity” and “incumbent protection,” Trump is busy reminding everyone who is really running the show.

The highlight? Kentucky’s 4th District, where Trump-backed Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein took out Rep. Thomas Massie. This was not just another primary win. It was a direct shot across the bow at Senate Majority Leader John Thune and the rest of the Republican establishment. For years, the game in D.C. has been simple: protect your own, even if they vote against the base on key issues. Trump bucked that racket hard. No more automatic immunity for incumbents who talk a good game but deliver nothing. Massie, long a thorn in the side with his independent streak and criticisms of Trump, became the latest incumbent carcass on the pile.

And let us call it what it is: frustration is boiling over. After two trifectas, complete Republican control of the White House, House, and Senate, where is the SAVE Act? Why are Democrats still able to obstruct funding for TSA, border security, and the immigration reforms voters demanded? The base is watching promises get bogged down in procedural nonsense while the same old players protect their seats. In the meantime, Trump is methodically clearing the field, stacking up wins against those who cross him or drag their feet. Massie is just the latest name on a growing list.

This is not chaos. It is accountability, the kind the voters have been craving. Trump is not asking permission from the consultant class or the Thune crowd. He is sending a crystal-clear message to every Republican in Congress: get on board with the America First agenda, or get primaried. The endorsement machine is firing on all cylinders, and the results prove it still carries massive weight with the Republican base.

The question now hanging over Texas is whether this pattern continues. With Trump throwing his support behind Attorney General Ken Paxton against incumbent U.S. Sen. John Cornyn (R-Texas) next, will we see another establishment name added to the pile? If the 37-0 streak and Massie’s defeat are any indication, the writing might already be on the wall.

The message from primary night is simple: Trump’s voters are loyal, and they are not in the mood for more excuses. The incumbent protection game is over. Time to deliver, or step aside for someone who will.
