Early in the morning on December 23, Fort Worth police responded to the home of 56-year-old Janice White in northeast Fort Worth.

Police are investigating shots fired around 2:30 am at the home on Sunflower Circle. Police found White in the kitchen with a gunshot wound to her upper leg.

She was transported to the hospital, where she later died.

The reasoning for the shooting is unknown, but detectives are investigating the case and searching for clues.

Fox 4 reported that officers said someone may have fired shots from outside the home, as there appears to be no sign of forced entry.
