Two people died in a fiery crash on a Dallas highway early Wednesday morning, marking a tragic end to 2025 on North Central Expressway.

Dallas police responded to the single-vehicle wreck around 5:30 a.m. on the southbound North Central Expressway at West Northwest Highway. The vehicle burst into flames after impact, according to investigators.

Dallas Fire-Rescue crews extinguished the blaze but found both occupants dead inside. Authorities pronounced them deceased at the scene.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the victims’ identities. Police continue investigating what caused the driver to lose control.

The crash location, a major thoroughfare connecting downtown Dallas to northern suburbs, typically sees heavy traffic even during early morning hours. Wednesday’s fatal wreck closed multiple lanes during the morning commute.

No other vehicles were involved in the incident. The investigation remains ongoing as detectives work to determine the cause of the crash.
