The Dallas Express previously reported on the search for 11-year-old Traveon Griffin. Police have called off the search for Griffin, who reportedly went missing after running away from home wearing only shorts and socks.

Following an exhaustive search by the Dallas Police Department that lasted for about thirty-six hours, Traveon Griffin was found at a home in Winecup Ridge Drive near his last known location, according to FOX 4 News.

According to FOX 4 News, medical crews attended to 11-year-old Traveon Griffin before being taken from the scene in a stretcher.

According to Dallas police, Traveon ran away from his home at about midnight on January 19. Officers and volunteers carried out a thorough search of Traveon’s neighborhood and its surrounding area.

According to FOX 4 News, K-9 crews, drones, and patrols on horseback from the Dallas Police Department were deployed in the search for the 11-year-old.

Dallas police upgraded the search to “critical,” considering weather conditions dropping below freezing and Traveon Griffin’s clothing. The 11-year-old was not wearing a shirt and was not dressed for the freezing conditions, according to police.

Per FOX 4 News, Traveon Griffin was found on January 21 after a neighbor called Dallas police officers at about 2 p.m. because he thought a burglar was in his garage.

Upon arrival at the neighbor’s garage, responding officers found Traveon in the garage. Dallas police could not confirm if the 11-year-old had been in the garage the whole time he was missing or if he had been elsewhere.

Dallas police said they visited the home where Traveon was found about six times during their search, but the residents there did not know he was in their garage.

A child who lived in the home knew Traveon Griffin, but it is unclear if the child helped him hide in the garage, said Dallas Police Department Sgt. Warren Mitchell.

The 11-year-old was released to his family hours after he was taken to Children’s Medical Center Dallas for evaluation.

Dallas police revealed that they did not find the case suspicious, and no charges are expected.
