Tom Cruise will visit Texas on May 22 to celebrate the premiere of his latest film, “Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” with stops in San Antonio and Dallas.

“On May 22, I’m coming to the great state of Texas,” Cruise said. “I’ll be visiting Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio before stopping by some theaters to see you at some of the first screenings of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Then we’re going to fly to Dallas, where I’m going to get some delicious barbecue before going to more theaters to say hello, and I can’t wait. We’ll see you at the movies.”

Cruise will greet fans at Dallas-area theaters on the evening of May 22, ahead of the film’s official release on May 23. While specific theater locations were not disclosed, the city is home to AMC, Regal, Cinemark, Alamo Drafthouse, and Studio Movie Grill venues. Additionally, Houston-area theaters will host a special IMAX screening event at 2:00 p.m. on May 22, offering fans an early chance to see the film.

“Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning,” the eighth installment in the franchise, is the longest in the series at nearly three hours. The previous film, “Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning,” grossed $571 million worldwide, according to boxofficemojo.com

The cast includes Cruise, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Hayley Atwell, Pom Klementieff, Esai Morales, Hannah Waddingham, Nick Offerman, Angela Bassett, Katy O’Brian, Tramell Tillman, Shea Whigham, and Henry Czerny.
