Ternesha Womack | Feb 16, 2022

A tenant was discovered dead after barricading themselves inside their apartment on February 15 as the Tarrant County Precinct 3 Constable’s Office attempted to serve them an eviction notice.

Around 9 a.m. on Tuesday morning, officers arrived at the Olympus Town Center apartment complex at the 1300 block of Keller Parkway to deliver the formal notice when they heard a gunshot.

Officers described the situation as a standoff, with the tenant barricaded inside the residence for nearly two hours.

The North Tarrant County Regional SWAT team was called in to assist, and nearby residents were asked to evacuate the area. SWAT officers entered the apartment around 10:50 a.m. and found the unidentified deceased individual.

Neighbors were allowed to return to their homes after about an hour, when police announced the “incident [had] concluded.”

No other details are known at this time. The Keller Police Department is handling the investigation.
