Missing Child Dies After Being Found Unresponsive in Pool

A young child who was reported missing in Richland Hills was found dead in a pool on February 11, Richard Hills police said.

Per a report by CBS 11 News, the Richland Hills Police Department was alerted on February 11 to a missing child situation in a residence in the 3100 block of Crites Street. When responding officers got to the apartment, they began searching for the child.

Officers found the child unresponsive in a residential pool near the house. Officers immediately began CPR on the boy ahead of the arrival of paramedics.

The child was taken to a local hospital, where doctors carried out life-saving measures. However, the child was pronounced dead.

The identity of the child and those involved in the incident will not be released.

Richland Hills Police said no criminal charges are expected as they do not suspect foul play. However, an investigation is ongoing and urge anyone with information regarding the incident to contact the department at 817-616-3788.
