An investigation has been launched into the circumstances surrounding the death of a man after his body was found in a Dallas area lake on Friday.
Irving police received reports of a body in Lake Carolyn near the Monterra Las Colinas Apartments in the 300 block of West Las Colinas Boulevard at around 10:15 a.m. on March 8. The Irving Fire Department’s swift water rescue team retrieved the floating corpse, which was identified as a local 28-year-old male resident.
The man’s cause of death has yet to be determined, as the medical examiner’s report is still pending, per WFAA.
Swimming and other private water recreation activities are not allowed in Lake Carolyn, which does have some licensed standup paddle and gondola rental operations, per Dallas County. It is part of the Las Colinas Development, a mixed-use planned community. A fully paved 2.8-mile walking trail surrounds the lake, which is popular among walkers and runners.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, a dead man’s body was pulled out of Bachman Lake on Sunday by Dallas Fire-Rescue near the intersection of Webb Chapel Extension and Bachman Drive. The Dallas Police Department and the Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office are investigating the incident, and it is unclear if foul play is suspected.
