Dallas police have arrested a 22-year-old for allegedly sexually assaulting a woman in the aisle of a Pleasant Grove gas station last week.

According to an arrest warrant affidavit for Roel Perea Perez, 22, officers of the Dallas Police Department responded to a call around 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 16, at the Sunoco in the 9500 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway, at South St. Augustine Drive.

The affidavit revealed that the sexual assault victim told officers that she had first seen Perez at another gas station across the street. She added that the 22-year-old had tried to get her attention. She also told officers that she did not know he had followed her into the Sunoco.

According to the affidavit, the woman told officers that Perez continued to follow her and grabbed her sleeve while walking down an aisle. She added that Perez showed her a written text on his phone that read, “Come with me, I want sex for money.”

The affidavit revealed that the woman told Dallas police officers that Perez grabbed at the leg opening of her shorts twice. She revealed that Perez managed to sexually assault her one of those times.

According to the arrest warrant affidavit, the incident was captured on the store’s surveillance video.

Perez is now facing one count of sexual assault. According to The Dallas Morning News, the 22-year-old’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Perez is being held at the Dallas County Jail as of Friday, Oct. 22, and his bail is set at $50,000.
