The bandmates of a New York-based indie band, Brother Moses, say that their drummer, Corey Dill, was hospitalized after being run over by two people who stole items from their tour van on Tuesday, Oct. 19.

According to a GoFundMe page set for Dill, Brother Moses was on tour and ready to play for a show in Dallas when the drummer spotted a man breaking into their tour van outside the venue.

The drummer’s bandmates revealed on the GoFundMe page that Dill chased after the thief and caught up to him. However, they had gotten into a vehicle that was waiting for them in an alley.

The getaway car was a black or dark gray GMC Sierra, and the driver hit Dill and ran over him as they fled the scene. Dill sustained multiple injuries, including a pelvic fracture and a broken clavicle. He also had multiple fractures to bones in his face.

According to Dill’s bandmate James Lockhart, the thieves made away with Dill’s backpack and $2,000 worth of musical equipment in their tour van. Lockhart also revealed that the thief broke the keyhole on the driver’s side door to access the vehicle.

Lockhart added that the thief who broke into the van was a white man who wore black baggy pants and a red ball cap. They also estimated his height to be between five feet six inches and five feet nine inches.

Lockhart further revealed that security footage from businesses showed the driver outside before the incident. Lockhart described him as stocky with dark hair and a buzz cut. The driver wore fitted tan cloths and a black mask over his face and nose.

Dill is currently in Baylor University Medical Center, where he is undergoing multiple surgeries. The drummer is expected to recover from his injuries.

Lockhart revealed that fellow bandmates had access to him and that his wife flew in from their home in Philadelphia to be by his side.

A Dallas police spokesperson said no arrests have been made as of Friday. Lockhart said a detective from the Dallas PD has been in touch with the other bandmates.
