Pedestrian Shot by Gunman in Vehicle

A man was wounded in South Dallas on Saturday night when someone in a car shot him, Dallas police said. According to the victim’s statement to the police, he had been walking on the 4600 block of Dolphin Road, near Shearith Israel Memorial Park, at about 8 p.m. when a car he did not recognize approached him.

The victim said that someone in the vehicle asked him a question, after which he shot him with a handgun.

Police said the victim sustained a wound to his left bicep and was taken to a hospital for treatment.

The Dallas PD has not provided the victim’s identity nor any further information about the shooting. It is also unknown if the police have uncovered any possible suspects in the shooting.

The police are also looking into another shooting reported on the 4600 block of Silver Drive on Friday night in South Dallas. The victim, a 19-year-old man, was pronounced dead at the scene. Police do not know if there is a connection between both cases but say that an investigation is ongoing.
