A well-known Dallas-area personal trainer has been arrested on a charge of invasive recording.

Forty-one-year-old John Nance Benton was arrested and booked into the Denton County jail on Wednesday, Sept. 29, one count of invasive visual recording. Benton was released later that day on a $20,000 bond.

According to records, the allegation levied against Benton involves images he recorded in a changing room. Benton recorded the images in August 2020. Further details about the case were not made available, and his attorney could not be immediately reached for comments.

John Benton Model Fitness’ website said Benton works directly with top modeling agencies and pageants all around the world. The company’s website also showed that Benton is the official trainer for Miss Dallas and Miss Dallas Teen pageants.

The company put out a statement on Instagram saying Benton was stepping away from the business he founded.
