Travelers in Dallas may wish to plan alternate routes this upcoming weekend as portions of the Dallas North Tollway are scheduled to be closed.

The North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA) has announced that the Dallas North Tollway (DNT) in Dallas would be closed this weekend to conduct bridge repairs. This weekend will be the first of two weekend closures on the tollway this month.

The first of these closures is expected from March 8 at 10:00 p.m. through March 11 at 5:00 a.m.

Closed roads over this duration include the following per NTTA:

  • All lanes of southbound Dallas North Tollway (DNT) from I-635 to Royal Lane
  • East- and westbound I-635 to southbound DNT direct-connector ramps
  • Southbound Harvest Hill Road, Inwood Road, and Forest Lane entrance ramps
  • Southbound Royal Lane exit ramp
  • Northbound left lane of DNT from Royal Lane to Forest Lane

The same closures noted above are expected from March 22 at 10:00 p.m. to March 25 at 5:00 a.m.

Drivers can also expect continuous closures of all east- and westbound lanes of Northaven Road over the DNT from March 8 through mid-April.

“Message boards will be placed nearby to alert drivers of the closure. All closures are subject to weather conditions and will be postponed, if necessary,” read the announcement from NTTA.

The NTTA has identified detour routes for drivers to follow during these closures and provided a map of these routes and closed roads.

NTTA’s website noted the following detours:

  • Eastbound Northaven Road: Drivers will turn north on Inwood Road and make a right on Forest Lane. They will turn right at Preston Road and continue to Northaven Road.
  • Westbound Northaven Road: Drivers will turn north on Preston Road and make a left on Forest Lane. They will turn left at Inwood Road and continue to Northaven Road.

Drivers are advised to practice caution when passing near the construction areas.
