City leaders say they have reduced missed bulk trash pickups from around eight hundred to three hundred in September.
Dallas leaders said they are working towards solving the city’s bulk trash pickup problems. However, residents say they are still dealing with disposed of items sitting on the streets for days.
The city’s new plan is to get trash picked up sometime during the week instead of on certain fixed days, according to a FOX 4 News report. The city is also planning to reduce trash pickup from once a month to once a quarter.
Dallas city leaders have started a new pilot program that will see six neighborhoods test out the reduced bulk trash pickup schedule. Residents will be told what locations they can drop off bulk trash themselves.
City leaders made the new plan despite telling council members that the city’s sanitization department is almost fully staffed following increased wages. They also shared that their efforts have reduced missed bulk trash pickups from around eight hundred to three hundred in September.
