Dallas police aim to tighten rules on off-duty work after a fugitive impersonator placed real officers in security jobs.

The changes follow the shooting death last week of Diamon Robinson, 39, a wanted fugitive who created a fake identity as Mike King to infiltrate law enforcement circles, including as a security guard for U.S. Representative Jasmine Crockett (D-TX), as previously reported on by The Dallas Express.

Dallas detectives are examining Robinson’s computer to determine how he concealed an eight-year criminal history of car thefts, check forgery, and scams to build trust as a business owner.

Robinson’s ruse ended when he drew a gun on SWAT officers attempting to arrest him.

Investigators found Robinson operated Off Duty Police Services and promoted it on RollKall, an Irving-based platform for off-duty jobs.

“He did have two accounts on the platform, one as an officer and one as an external organizer, that person that gets extra jobs and coordinates, and basically an external coordinator,” said Allison Hudson, DPD Media Relations Office Assistant Director, CBS News Texas reported.

RollKall issued a statement emphasizing the platform’s security:

“We want to be clear: the suspect’s use of the Rollkall platform did not result in a breach of user data. Personally identifiable information, including Social Security numbers and bank account details, stored within the Rollkall platform remains secure. At no point was this individual able to access the personal data of any other person on the platform.”

A search of Robinson’s apartment uncovered fake federal agent uniforms, ID badges, government license plates, and emergency lights on his vehicle, though authorities have not disclosed their origins.

DPD continues to assess earnings from Robinson’s RollKall listings, which connected officers to jobs.

“We are going through, obviously, our checkpoints, our audits and things like that because there’s always room for improvement,” Hudson said. “And so we are working with RollKall very closely. Obviously, this platform was fully vetted. We believe in the program. And so moving forward, we are going to put additional safeguards in place that will be forthcoming in the next couple of weeks.”
