The Irving Police Department is looking for the man who killed 19-year-old Thayrion Mason in a drive-by shooting at an intersection on February 10.

Irving Police said the incident occurred in the 8800 block of N. MacArthur Boulevard at a red light.

At approximately 10 a.m., Mason stopped at the red light in the center lane and the suspect’s vehicle stopped in the left lane.

Police said the front seat passenger of the shooter’s vehicle leaned to stick their arm out the window and fired several shots, hitting Mason.

Irving Police said the suspect vehicle fled the scene, heading southbound. Police described the shooter’s vehicle as “possibly a 2018 Toyota Corolla, slate metallic color, dark tinted windows.”

Police added that the vehicle’s plates were covered at the time of the shooting.

Mason was transported to Parkland Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Irving Police are asking anyone with information that might lead to the arrest of a suspect in the drive-by shooting to contact the department at (972) 273-1010. Tips can also be submitted to [email protected].
