The Dallas Police Department said its officers found a 19-year-old man fatally shot in a wooded area in South Dallas on Friday, Oct. 22, after his family reported that he had been missing for two days.

Dallas police officers were called on Friday at about 6:34 p.m. to the 4600 block of Silver Drive, near Dolphin Road and Haskell Avenue. Responding officers found Anthony Diante Dixon, the 19-year-old male, in a wooded area. He had suffered a gunshot wound.

Dallas Fire-Rescue responded to the scene and pronounced the victim dead.

According to Gina Dixon, the victim’s aunt, the 19-year-old had been missing since Wednesday. She said he disappeared while he was on his way to meet friends near East Dallas. The 19-year-old’s family became worried when they did not hear from him for twenty-four hours. Gina revealed that Dixon never went that long before speaking to his family.

Gina said she drove from her house in Houston on Thursday and went around Dallas asking if anyone had seen or heard from him. She revealed that a friend told the family that the police had found a body.

Gina said her family is taking Dixon’s death very hard and that he meant a lot to them. She also revealed that Dixon was her brother’s firstborn son.

Gina stated that Dixon, who grew up around Duncanville, graduated from Lincoln High School last year and had just gotten his apartment. She said her last memory of her nephew was when he called her to show her his new apartment.

Gina also revealed that Dixon had a connection with his family and that the family is praying that the killer gets arrested and sent to prison.

Dallas police ask anyone with information about the crime to contact Detective Phillip Wheeler at 214-671-3686 or [email protected] and refer to case No. 192353-2021.
