On February 17, a 6-year-old boy was attacked by a dog, leaving him with serious injuries.

The attack occurred around 3:15 p.m. in the 3400 block of Timberglen Road, near Frankford Road and Kelly Boulevard. The 6-year-old boy had just gotten off the school bus in his Far North Dallas neighborhood.

According to police, the dog escaped an apartment after its owner allegedly failed to secure the dog in their home.

The victim was transported to a hospital with significant injuries but is reported to be in stable condition.

Dallas Animal Services has the animal in custody, and the owner has been arrested on a felony count of attack by a dangerous dog resulting in serious bodily injury.
