Voters looking to make their way to the polls on May 6 can get a free ride to their polling station from Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART).

DART says it will be providing free transportation to polling locations for the May 6 election, according to a news release.

People using DART transportation will be able to ride all DART buses, trains, GoLink, the Dallas Streetcar, Paratransit Services, and the TRE between EBJ Union Station and CentrePort-DFW Airport Station free of charge.

In order to be able to receive free transportation, riders will have to show a valid voter registration card.

For riders who use GoLink, make sure to use the promo code VOTE23 at checkout for a complimentary Adult Local Day Pass in the DART GoPass app on May 6.

In October 2022, DART announced similar rides to polling locations for the Texas general election in November, as reported at the time by The Dallas Express.

DART has been in the limelight recently, as reported by The Dallas Express. Nadine Lee, the president of DART, was questioned earlier this year by members of the Dallas City Council about various projects.

A notable exchange between Lee and Council Member Tennell Atkins occurred after tense questioning from Atkins about delays in the Silver Line project that, according to Lee, are costing $150,000 a day.
