Dallas police will release body-worn and dash-camera video Monday afternoon from two officer-involved shootings that unfolded less than 24 hours apart last week.

The department scheduled a 4 p.m. news conference at Jack Evans Police Headquarters, 1400 Botham Jean Blvd. The briefing will cover the August 6 shooting on Williamstown Road and the August 7 shooting in the 8500 block of Park Lane, according to a media notice. Police plan to show footage from both incidents and provide additional information during the briefing.

Williamstown Road shooting

Dallas officers responded around 9:20 a.m. August 6 to an armed robbery in progress in the 3500 block of Sunnyvale Street. Police said a suspect allegedly stole a vehicle, and officers tracked it north before conducting a felony traffic stop in the 5900 block of Williamstown Road.

As the suspect got out of the vehicle, one Dallas police officer fired a single shot, according to the department. No one suffered injuries, and police arrested the suspect at the scene, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Park Lane suspect surrendered

Officers responded around 7 a.m. August 7 to a domestic disturbance at the Sunchase Park Apartments in the 8500 block of Park Lane. Police said officers found 37-year-old Isidoro Melo-Munoz standing over a woman and allegedly stabbing her with a knife. An officer fired at Melo-Munoz after police ordered him to drop the knife, and he fled the scene. No officers suffered injuries. Dallas police provided an update later Friday morning.

Dallas police announced Saturday that Melo-Munoz turned himself in. The department had identified him Friday while asking the public to help locate him, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

The two incidents occurred during a roughly 24-hour stretch that also included the shooting of Dallas ISD Police Officer Justin Jones near Midway Road. Dallas police said that shooting was unrelated, and it is not listed among the incidents in Monday’s briefing.

Police plan to release the video and additional information from both incidents during Monday’s 4 p.m. briefing.
