Dallas police said an officer fired one shot at an armed robbery suspect Thursday morning after officers tracked a stolen vehicle from South Dallas to Far North Dallas.
Officers responded around 9:20 a.m. to an armed robbery in progress in the 3500 block of Sunnyvale Street, where police said an armed suspect stole a vehicle.
Police tracked the stolen vehicle nearly 15 miles before conducting a felony traffic stop in the 5800 block of Williamstown Road. As the suspect exited the vehicle, a Dallas police officer fired one shot, according to the department.
Neither the suspect nor any officers were struck or injured. Police arrested the suspect at the scene.
Dallas police had initially described the incident only as an officer-involved shooting and reported no injuries. The department later clarified the circumstances during an afternoon briefing.
Police said additional information, including body-camera footage, will be released in the coming days.
