The Dallas Police Department announced that two employees were terminated following disciplinary hearings held on January 13 with Police Chief Michael Comeaux.
According to the department, Police Officer Cesar Rangel, badge number 12461, assigned to the Northeast Division, was terminated for engaging in adverse conduct after being arrested for indecent assault, a Class A misdemeanor, and for using city equipment for purposes unrelated to departmental business. Rangel had been employed with the department since September 2022.
The department also terminated Sergeant John Fiore, badge number 9124, assigned to the Central Division, after a psychological and psychiatric evaluation determined he was unfit to perform the essential job functions required of a Dallas police officer. Fiore had been employed by the department since May 2007.
No additional details were released regarding the disciplinary hearings.
The terminations follow other recent disciplinary actions announced by the department earlier this month, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.
