Dallas police released some of the findings of their investigation into a shooting outside a north Oak Cliff apartment over the weekend.

On Saturday night, the Dallas Police Department officers were called to the Kontour at Kessler Parks Apartments in the 1300 block of Winding Brook Lane, near Interstate 30 and Fort Worth Avenue. At about 7:10 p.m., they arrived at the venue and found a man lying in the parking lot, having been shot.

According to police, the man was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Dallas police have been investigating the shooting since then.

On Monday, police said that the man who died pointed a handgun at another man who then fired his handgun in self-defense. The department also revealed that a man was questioned and released. However, there was no mention of the name of the person questioned.

Dallas police also said on Monday that the department will refer the shooting to a Dallas County grand jury.

Police did not release the name of the person who died in the shooting nor any additional information on their investigation.
