A 20-year-old man was arrested on a capital murder charge for the murder of his ex-girlfriend.

The Dallas Morning News reports police responded to a call Saturday evening and met with a witness who said Edgar Ramirez called her and told her he killed his 19-year-old ex-girlfriend.

Police went to Ramirez’s apartment and arrested him while they tried to locate the crime scene. Officers say Ramirez later led them to her body in a wooded area.

Police also said Ramirez told them that he had taken the victim’s car to another location in Dallas, where he burned it.

Per the report, police said that the ex-girlfriend had been reported missing in Balch Springs earlier Saturday.

Ramirez is in the Dallas County jail with his bail set at $650,000.

Police did not provide information about what led to the killing. They also did not release the identity of the victim.
