Dallas police arrested a security guard at an illegal game room who allegedly shot a man in the throat with a shotgun. A colleague of the shooter told police that the shooting was a contract killing.

Odis Don Price, 56, the security guard, is facing a murder charge after being accused of killing Robert Reynoso at about 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 30. Price allegedly shot Reynoso outside the game room in the 1600 block of East Eleventh Street, near South Corinth Road in East Oak Cliff.

According to court records, a witness told police that events leading to the incident began when security wouldn’t let Reynoso into the gambling room. The witness told police that the victim went back to his car but was met by a security guard with a shotgun on his return.

Detective wrote in an arrest warrant affidavit that the security person held the shotgun up and fired it once, hitting the victim in the throat.

Reynoso was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The witness later identified Price as the security guard.

According to court records, a woman who worked at the illegal game room told Dallas police that Price had told her that someone had hired him to kill the victim. The court records also showed that the woman did not tell police who hired Price. The woman was not present at the scene when Price, who she knew as “Cowboy,” fatally shot Reynoso.

Price was arrested on Monday, November 1. The 56-year-old was booked into the Dallas County Jail on charges that included murder and forgery. Price is being held over a $500,000 bond.
