As previously reported by the Dallas Express, Detective Scott Sayers and the Dallas Police Department are actively seeking any information that can lead them to Justin Thompson’s killer. An attempted robbery left Thompson fatally shot on Monday, Sept. 20.

The Dallas Express reported that video footage from the area close to the scene of the crime resulted in the search of a person of interest. They hoped that this person would be able to provide information associated with Thompson’s death.

The Dallas Police Department stated that they have since cleared the person of interest depicted in the video footage. Police said their investigation led them to determine that he was not involved with Thompson’s fatal gunshot.

Detective Sayers has been on the hunt for the killer since Sept. 20. He and Dallas PD continue to ask the public for information that can help them find the person that committed this crime and took Thompson’s life. If you have any information, you can contact Det. Sayers at 214-671-3647 or at [email protected].

Thompson’s family and friends held a vigil in his honor on Saturday, Sept. 26, at the Legacy of Love monument in Oak Lawn to remember him.
