A report of smoke disrupted proceedings at the Frank Crowley Courts Building on the afternoon of March 3.

The smoke, which was emanating from the seventh floor of the court building, prompted the evacuation of everyone inside.

According to CBS 11 News, the incident occurred during the Darius Fields trial.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Darius Fields is charged with engaging in organized criminal activity related to the kidnapping and murder of 13-year-old Shavon Randle of Lancaster.

Dallas Fire-Rescue later said that the smoke reported had come from burnt food.

People were allowed to return to the building shortly before 4 p.m.

However, the evacuation marked the end of testimony in the Darius Fields trial for the day, per CBS.

No injuries were reported in the incident.
