Many times government officials are told that they never listen to their constituents. However, Dallas City Council members are proving that statement wrong as they host Budget Town Hall Meetings to hear what Dallasites want in the upcoming fiscal year 2021-2022 city budget.  

Thirty-six town hall meetings are slated until the end of August for residents to sound off to Dallas City Manager T.C. Broadnax and council members on how their tax dollars are spent. Meetings are in a variety of formats, including in-person, virtual, and telephone.

To find the closest meeting to you and the one hosted in your council district or by your council member, visit a web page with a map divided into city districts for residents to click on their location within the city.  

Once you know your district, visit the Budget Town Hall Meeting page to search for meetings within your community. Meetings are held in English and Spanish.  

After the meetings, the council will discuss the public’s comments, create the city’s budget, and present the proposed budget for a vote.
