DeSoto Police are no longer searching for a DeSoto woman who went missing on February 6 after her body was found in a local lake.

City of Dallas divers discovered the body of Yi Chan on February 8 in Mountain Creek Lake, a reservoir located 8 miles southwest of Downtown Dallas.

The Dallas Express previously reported that 25-year-old Chan left her DeSoto home in the 500 block of Olympia Street in a depressed state around midnight on Sunday, February 6.

Dallas Police found Chan’s car with the keys inside on Mountain Creek Parkway later that morning.

Due to the family’s concerns about Chan’s mental health, police launched a land, air, and water search.

Law enforcement personnel representing the Dallas and Grand Prairie Police Departments collaborated with DeSoto investigators in a two-day search and rescue mission to locate the missing woman.

The Dallas County Medical Examiner confirmed on Tuesday that the body recovered from the lake was Chan’s.

Authorities reiterate that anyone suffering from mental health issues (including thoughts of self-harm or injury to others) can contact the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255, free of charge and with the assurance of confidentiality.
