The Dallas Express revealed earlier this week that a suspected arson fire left a home burned and two residents with injuries. According to Dallas Fire-Rescue officials, a 30-year-old woman was arrested after being accused of arson in connection with the fire.

Moniqua Juanita Queme, 30, was arrested on arson charges for the fire incident in a two-story home in the 800 block of East Ninth Street. Investigators said that the fire started in the living room of the building.

Dallas Fire-Rescue spokesman Jason Evans said firefighters were able to get the fire under control, but the house was badly damaged.

The fire left two residents injured with burn wounds. Firefighters met the injured residents in the home’s front yard after they responded to the emergency, near Jefferson Boulevard and Ewing Avenue, at about 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 30.

The Dallas Express reported that an off-duty firefighter, who was on his way to work, saw the fire and quickly went into the home to pull the injured residents out. As previously reported, the off-duty firefighter requested to remain anonymous.
