Several anti-Israel protesters disrupted Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s campaign rally in Dallas this week.

On Thursday night, Haley hosted a rally at Gilley’s Dallas South Side Music Hall, where she called out the alleged failures of former President Donald Trump and President Joe Biden while pitching herself as an effective “conservative leader,” as reported by The Dallas Express.

However, Haley’s speech was interrupted several times by anti-Israel activists who accused Haley of supporting genocide and condemned her for supporting Israel in its war against the terrorist organization Hamas in Gaza. She has been a longtime supporter of Israel going back even before her days as U.S. ambassador to the UN under the Trump administration.

In October, Haley said the United States should “support Israel with whatever they need whenever they need it.”

“Do you serve the American people or the Israeli government?” one protester shouted on Thursday. The activists were ejected from the hall by security after disrupting the event.

“Nikki Haley, you can’t hide! We charge you with genocide!” another activist yelled while being dragged out of the event.

In a statement to DX, Haley’s campaign noted that she supports the First Amendment right of Americans to protest and voice their opinions.

“Every time, Nikki points out that we are blessed because her husband and his military brothers and sisters sacrifice for us every day for them to be able to do that,” said spokesperson Brittany Yanick.

During Thursday’s rally, Haley discussed the importance of the United States’ support of Israel but never directly addressed the accusations of “genocide” leveled by the protesters.

“We need to focus on national security,” she said. “Right now, the president and Congress don’t tell people why Ukraine matters. They don’t tell people why Israel matters. … When I’m president, I will overcommunicate and tell you absolutely everything.”

During this portion of Haley’s speech, one activist began shouting “free Palestine” and was subsequently ejected.

“That is exactly why you have to worry about Iran,” Haley said in response.

However, one attendee of the event told DX her response to the protesters rubbed him the wrong way.

Fort Worth resident Dalton Pastorius, 19, said he wished Haley engaged with the activists and addressed their criticisms.

“For her to call on people wearing hijabs who are protesting and say this is what happens, mentioning [Iran] … I think that’s horrible to hear,” he said. “I don’t think our leader should be saying that.”

Pastorius said he found Haley’s rally overall to be “pretty disheartening.”

“I don’t like how you have all these people talking about Palestine throughout her speech, and she doesn’t touch on it at all,” he said. “I think she should have had a conversation with some of these people. If she wants to win, that’s how she does that. She has conversations. She doesn’t read a script.”

However, other attendees told DX they loved Haley’s speech and plan to vote for her in the Republican primary election on March 5.

Anti-Israel protesters have held multiple rallies in Dallas and have been repeatedly disrupting Dallas City Council meetings since October. One activist was arrested by Dallas police on Wednesday after disrupting City business by shouting at the council members, as reported by The Dallas Express.

Additionally, anti-Israel activists targeted a Jewish council member’s home, vandalizing the property last weekend.
