On February 2, a roadway crash killed a truck driver and a dog in Downtown Dallas.

Dallas Police were dispatched to southbound Interstate-45 over eastbound Interstate-30 near Deep Ellum at about 9:55 p.m.

Officers discovered the truck driver of an 18-wheeler ejected from the cab of the truck after it seemed to have jack-knifed and hit a guardrail.

All lanes proximate to the directions of the scene were closed for clearance.

According to sheriff deputies, the truck driver fell nearly forty feet onto the I-30 ramp below and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A dog that apparently accompanied the victim also died in the crash.

The incident is still under investigation.
