13-Year-Old Killed in Shooting, Another Hospitalized

A shooting in central Fort Worth got a 13-year-old boy killed and another person injured on February 12, Fort Worth police said.   

According to a report by the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, the shooting occurred in the 1100 block of East Baltimore Avenue. A spokesperson for the Fort Worth Police Department said police were called to the scene, and upon arrival, responding officers found the two victims who had been shot.

Officers helped the two victims to a local hospital. However, the 13-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second victim was admitted for treatment but in critical condition. Fort Worth police say that this unidentified person remains at the hospital.

The Fort Worth Police Department released the identity of the 13-year-old as Kory Smith.

Police have not shared news of any arrests, nor have they announced any information about potential suspects.

The homicide unit of the Fort Worth Police Department is investigating the incident, the spokesperson said. If you have any information into this fatal shooting, please contact the police department.
