Two faith-oriented technology companies have combined to introduce what they describe as the world’s first Christian smart ring.

Glorify, whose daily devotional app has attracted more than 25 million users, merged with Confidein, an AI hardware and faith technology firm, to form a new entity under the Glorify name, announced The Christian Broadcasting Network on May 20.

The Glorify Ring aims to integrate spiritual practices into daily life through wearable technology. It provides gentle vibration prompts for prayer or reflection and pairs with the Glorify app to support devotional habits.

The Glorify Ring is currently in the pre-launch phase and available only via waitlist. You can join for early access and updates directly through the Glorify app (under the relevant section for the new hardware) or by visiting the official site at glorify.global.

No specific pricing, shipping details, or pre-order purchase option has been publicly announced yet—the product is still in the announcement/waitlist stage following Wednesday’s merger reveal, with additional features and full availability details expected this summer.

Henry Costa, Glorify’s founder, stated that “This will be an opportunity for us to look after our followers, mind, body, and soul, and give a fully holistic experience and give a faith companion for them.” He added that the merger strengthens capabilities to make faith a more natural part of daily movement.

RJ Gan, co-founder of Confidein, said, “We recognized early on at Confidein that modern Christians want their personal technology to reflect their personal values. Merging with Glorify brings that vision to life at scale – where digital momentum meets physical presence, starting with the Glorify Ring.”

The Glorify app, downloaded in more than 192 countries, has facilitated over 425 million “Daily Worships.” Partners include creators of “The Chosen,” Great American Media, Mercy Ships, and Churchome leaders Judah and Chelsea Smith.

How the Ring Functions and Differs from Standard Smart Rings

The Glorify Ring combines elements of conventional smart-ring hardware with faith-specific tools, leveraging Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. This short-range wireless standard enables devices to exchange data when held within a few centimeters of each other.

NFC allows users to tap the ring against their NFC-enabled smartphone to instantly receive a personalized Bible verse or a prayer matched to the user’s selected emotional state through AI, per lohud. The ring contains a passive NFC chip that draws power from the phone during the brief tap, so no battery is required for this function. This enables quick access to faith-based content throughout the day.

It delivers gentle haptic vibrations as reminders for prayer, devotions, or reflection. Additional capabilities include tracking spiritual habits like prayer duration and consistency, similar to how fitness rings monitor activity.

Standard smart rings, such as the Oura Ring, primarily track physiological metrics, including sleep stages, heart rate variability, activity levels, and recovery scores, and often require a subscription for app access.

The Glorify Ring incorporates some of these health-tracking elements but prioritizes spiritual integration, such as scripture delivery, anonymous prayer sharing with other believers, and devotional rhythm monitoring, as reported by Fast Company. It is described as waterproof, made from premium materials, and designed as a “faith companion” rather than solely a fitness device.

Spirituality, Religion, and Health Among Americans

Data indicate that while formal religious identification has declined, many Americans retain spiritual beliefs.

According to a 2023-24 Pew Research Center Religious Landscape Study, 62% of U.S. adults identify as Christian, down from 71% in 2014 and 78% in 2007. The religiously unaffiliated (“nones”) stand at 29%. However, large majorities report supernatural or spiritual views: 79% believe there is something spiritual beyond the natural world, 83% believe in God or a universal spirit, and 86% believe humans have a soul or spirit.

A 2026 Pew survey found 37% of Americans say religion is gaining influence in American life, up significantly in recent years, though 61% still say it is losing influence.

Research links religious or spiritual involvement to health outcomes. A comprehensive review by the Wheatley Institute, drawing on thousands of studies, found positive associations between religion and mental health outnumber negative ones by roughly 10 to 1.

Gallup analyses have shown that very religious Americans are less likely to report lifetime depression diagnoses and experience fewer daily negative emotions, such as worry, stress, sadness, and anger, compared to less religious or nonreligious counterparts.

They also tend to report higher overall wellbeing, optimism, and life satisfaction. Pew data further indicate that actively religious Americans are more likely than the unaffiliated to describe their health as very good.

Younger adults show particular interest in mental health priorities, including spiritual goals. In a 2026 American Psychiatric Association poll, 38% of Americans planned mental health-related New Year’s resolutions, with 58% of those ages 18-34 doing so. Spiritual goals were cited by 28% overall.

The Glorify Ring represents one entry in the expanding faith-tech sector, merging wearable hardware with longstanding religious practices as Americans navigate spirituality and wellbeing.
