Velvet Taco, a Dallas-based taco spot, officially opened its Grapevine location on Monday.

Velvet Taco is a casual taco spot with a lot of menu options. Tacos include your choice of pork, chicken, beef, or fish, and there are even vegetarian options. The restaurant also serves various sides and alcoholic drinks for adults.

The newest Velvet Taco location, which has been serving the public since February 6, is much different than the rest. The Grapevine restaurant features a unique theme, one that is specifically meant for Grapevine. Due to the vintage railroad in Downtown Grapevine, the restaurant is train-themed.

The restaurant’s patio is similar to the canopy of a train station, and both the interior and exterior lights are in the same theme, as reported by the Dallas Business Journal. There is also an exterior water cooler that mimics a cargo car and a mural that shows the Grapevine water tower.

To celebrate the grand opening of the newest location, Velvet Taco has special deals that are available to customers until February 12. The first 100 dine-in guests could even win giveaways that may include apparel, red velvet cake, queso, and more, per Community Impact News.

On Saturday, February 11, the restaurant will have its taco truck offering mobile eats around the Grapevine area. Customers who find the truck could win prizes similar to those who dine in at the restaurant. Additionally, dine-in guests can also have their faces painted at the store on the same day.

The Grapevine location is now open at 440 W. State Highway 114, establishing 39 total locations for Velvet Taco. These locations include 13 in the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and various other locations throughout Atlanta, Austin, Chicago, and Houston.

Velvet Taco already has plans to expand to even more North Texas cities. In early 2023, there are expected to be new locations in Rockwall and Deep Ellum, as well as Frisco, Allen, and Fort Worth, at some point during the year.
